        ...and on top of that, I've had to replace my external hard drive, which had critical financial and job-related data on it because it failed, so I've had to shell out on a new hard drive and data retrieval software so I can start putting the pieces back together. Life's fun!

      12 years?! Wow! Mine just turned 7. The one before that lasted 4 or 5 years. I would like to keep this one another 4 years if possible, but I know it is going to get exceptionally far behind before then, even with last year's upgrades. Grats on the new machine.

        I've been desperate for a new PC for about 6 years now, just never been able to afford a decent one until now. I was originally going to custom build this one like I did the last one, but decided instead to go for an off-the-shelf option and I couldn't be happier. I'm not expecting another 12 years out of this one, but if it can get me through a good 5+ years then I'll be perfectly content.
