The Gates of Horn and Ivory

Two Gates the silent House of Sleep adorn; Of polish'd Iv'ry this, that of transparent Horn:
True Visions thro' transparent Horn arise; Thro' polish'd Iv'ry pass deluding Lies.

No tire for me! I maintain a high level of physical activity, and will continue to do so, to prolong that metabolism for as long as possible, burn calories, and keep my heart in somewhat decent shape despite imperfect diet and free radical intake.

When God was handing out six-packs, I got a barrell.

I'm personally very over-sensitive about the looks of my stomach, but which girl isn't?

I am not even going to talk about my stomach. *sighs* But at least I am working on it. I can say that. Well, for 6 weeks now.

I'm not. x) I'd wish they'd invent suits so that the energy your character in any game burns off running around went to you. :p It'd prevent people from playing too much because they'd all be walking skeletons in the end.

Hmmm a weight loss augmentation suit. If they can make a swim suit that boosts your ability to swim, then perhaps a suit could be made that would work on parts of your body that need weight loss.

You ever see the infomercials for those ab training belts? They give your muscles repeated electrical shocks to simulate muscle use. In reality, they just shock you.

Yeah, and you see a guy with a huge six pack saying he never used anything else to get in shape. 8D

Does that even work? Somehow, I doubt it, since we build muscles not by making the muscles contract. When we lift weights or stuff, we rip the protein strands in our muscles; our body tries to patch up these rips and actually form more muscle than necessary. So, muscles grow because they rip when we excercise.

What I've thought about those exercise machines that are supposed to work miracles is that if they actually are so amazing, more people would use them and nobody would ever be slaving away in the gyms or going on diets.
Plus, they wouldn't have to hire shitty washed up actresses to present their products on a home shopping network.

No Pid, they don't work. That's why I said they just shock you. It's supposedly painful.

Ugh, what a ridiculous and painful thing to do (the shocks). However, off I go to get on my exercise bike for a bit. At least that is helpful.

I have to say. A month wandering Europe, and I'm in the best shape of my life, haha. You walk up several hundred steps most days, climb hills and mountains, drag a month's worth of luggage around, it's quite good for you. I'm actually rather muscular at the moment. I want to not lose this. I will have to bicycle a lot. Because I want to pose for art at some point, for my own vanity, haha, and while I usually look good, I want to do it like this! Even though most of the change is in the feel of things, there's some noticeable visual difference. Or so says a certain male friend, and that was still only halfway through this trip.

I want to go with next time. :(

It has been raining heavily this weekend, my only weekend off 'til July sometime. It has not rained in 2009 here until now!

Today looked beautiful. I say looked because it was my first day being stuck at a desk for work. It's just 1 day a week though.

I biked to the place where one of my friends works yesterday, so my epic suburban OMG-try-not-to-die bike adventures have officially began again for the summer. One of my friends and I went out to Nags Head last summer, which is a about an hour drive, and I definitely want to do that again.

I need to get a bike pump so I can pump up my tires and use my bike. I love my bike.

The only bike I like is my exercise bike.

I'd like an exercise bike, they're nice. But I'd hafta put a fan in front of it. That's the best part of real bikes, automatic cooling from the breeze of your passage.

People used to using real bikes have passed out while using stationary bikes because they pushed too hard but there was no breeze to cool them off. Fun stuff.
