The Gates of Horn and Ivory

Two Gates the silent House of Sleep adorn; Of polish'd Iv'ry this, that of transparent Horn:
True Visions thro' transparent Horn arise; Thro' polish'd Iv'ry pass deluding Lies.

Yesterday worked all day. Then I took pics of my doll and edited them and posted one of them. Then we watched Avengers movie and then I went to bed.

What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep at night?

Occasionally I journal; more commonly I just brush my teeth and floss.

When do you normally wake up?

If generally left to my own devices I will normally arise late morning. If seriously left to my own devices I will normally arise early afternoon. The alarm can be anywhere between 7 and 8, depending.

Do you find yard sales interesting or just want to pass them by?

When I lived in Texas it was hard to tell if there was a yard sale or a redneck household. They look similar.

    I would skip it.

What are you planning to do this weekend?

Hehehe, that was funny. Well, I think I will go and buy some fabric for a tunic I am sewing with my Jedi sewing master who I pay $20/hr to teach me to sew.

If you could run your own business what would you choose to do?

FFS if I knew! Of the top of my head I would say open a Polish restaurant somewhere where people have no concept of the food and drink (like KY). (Except maybe not KY since people here are kinda homophobic and against trying new things.)

    Same question please.

hmm if I could run my own business... I'd run my own studio and just fill it with awesome people. :) then we'd just make whatever we thought would be awesome... or just do whatever jobs come up that are awesome, too. I don't think I could run a business though, I'm not much of a leader. I'd be better sitting in the corner, thinking of dumb ideas.

Where do you like to go when you're alone?

Due to transportation issues I don't really get to go anywhere nowadays. When it is warmer, I will at least go to the neighborhood park, they have a loop that I think is a quarter mile long. Usually though I am trying to get away from my roommate, which means going to the German bar and talking about beer, vodka, and cuisine.

When I was younger (17-21) I would just drive around and explore rural areas. If I was on the internet, that is where I was. Through that and work, I pretty much became intimate with like the whole bottom third of Florida, every cutoff, hole in the wall sandwich shop, small park... things not on maps. If I could drive I would do that here in KY, the topography here is much more interesting in Florida, there are even caves I could explore. That is what I would do. Take a book, music, maybe a snack and go see what's out there.

Where do you see yourself (or where would you like to see yourself) in 3 years?

Younger, hah. Hah. Hrmmmm. Guess that won't happen. Ok...thinner. Healthier. Richer. Still married with my cats but able to travel more. Feeling better about myself.

Have you ever had a sort of "transcendent moment"? Just something that seemed a little more than ordinary?

If waking up from that coma last year about this time counts, then yes. I honestly didn't think I was ever going to come out of it, so it was quite surreal when I finally woke up. I kept dreaming while in the coma that I was stuck at the bottom of a well with no way out, but my consciousness was near the top, so I kept screaming at myself to wake up. Apparently I did wake up a few times while under, I would sit up and open my eyes and look around, but I have no memory of doing any of that.

Have you had any weird dreams lately?

Yup. They're soothing to me, so it's always a relaxing trip when on one.

Absolutely depending on the kind of insect. I will gleefully kill a cockroach but would never harm a butterfly.

    Do you recycle your trash?

I think something like 2/3's of my waste I recycle, and then another quarter I compost. Never much garbage beyond plastic wrappings. Too bad I still have to pay the $10/month landfill tax. /sweat

    Sure, why not.

Have you ever devoted a whole day to doing nothing?

Yes and no because though I might do "nothing" I might also be reading or on the computer or watching tv. I consider those things mostly in the realm of doing nothing. But like just lying in a hammock staring at the ocean as the waves crash in and the warm breeze ruffles my hair all day long? I wish. But I might get bored too.

What's your favorite thing to have for breakfast?

A sandwich consisting of toasted wheat bread, jelly, and (fake) sausage. When I was growing up my mom would make biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast, and I would put jelly and sausage together on a biscuit and it was kind of delicious. I still do it with toast instead of biscuits and changing the sausage to a sausage substitute.

What's the longest car trip you've ever been on?

My longest trip was ~3000 miles driving from California to Massachusetts. Ugh it sucked I did it in 6 days. It was in a really hot summer too and I had no air conditioning in the car so I ended up driving at night. Ugh.

There are 2 objects before you, one is a large box-shaped dull gray object and the other is a tiny sparkling thing and you have no idea what either of them are or do...which do you go for first?
