The Gates of Horn and Ivory

Two Gates the silent House of Sleep adorn; Of polish'd Iv'ry this, that of transparent Horn:
True Visions thro' transparent Horn arise; Thro' polish'd Iv'ry pass deluding Lies.

Well, yeah. You'd just have to break the bone again and again until it heals properly XD Some heroes' healing system purges anything that shouldn't belong. I'm pretty sure Wolverine's body managed to 'squeeze out' bullets that don't go through him. I think >_> Actually, I'm not sure. Point is, pretty easy fixes! Maybe you can also donate organs, if the organs regenerate? That's kinda creepy though, I guess >_> Being vivisected, and harvested like that @_@ I wonder though if the healing factor would nullify anesthetics? Cause, you heal fast but you still feel pain, right? That would be traumatizing @_@

In some books that's the case. And that would be totally traumatizing. O_O

That, or you could just avoid running through a fire, jumping onto a sword, using your body as a bulletproof vest, or donating your organs while still alive! Cause, honestly, even if I had a healing factor I see absolutely no reason why I'd have to suddenly fight ninjas, gangsters, or fires without fire-rated equipment. I'd settle for just healing/recovering from daily exertions, thank you very much! haha

I don't know if I'd ever want 'omniscience' as described in that article. I'd rather instead have a super brain capable of learning and adapting to information. Basically, I'd be a super student; learn stuff really quick and become an expert. I wouldn't want to just suddenly KNOW everything all at once.

I think the point they're making is that, for example, were you to get into a serious car crash as you are now, you'd die, but if you did it with a healing factor, you'd have to live through your organs moving back into place, your bones re-setting etc. It would be very grim, so you'd need to be mentally strong or you'd just collapse.

Omniscience would kinda be a curse, so yeah, fuck that. I'll take a perfect photographic memory and enhanced fact-retention, thanks.

After some of the crazy pain stuff I've gone through, that thought doesn't phase me as much as it should. >_>

    Well, not daily.

I also kinda take exception to the Cyclops analogy. He doesn't use his eyes to aim; he uses his head! And uses his visor to adjust the size of the beams. But, yes, it would still cut a swathe of land for miles. Lasers don't lose momentum like bullets, and lasers don't go back inside your eyes if you're done using them, haha!
